Flower of Salt
Cvijet Soli, or Flower of Salt, is called “the caviar of salt” because of its value in gourmet cooking. Due to its delicate flavor and fine texture, it is normally not used as a cooking ingredient, but is added as a finishing salt at the end of food preparation. However the natural quality and high concentration of healthy minerals in this salt make it a perfect addition any time.
You may know Flower of Salt as the expensive “fleur de sel” in the gourmet section of your deli. As salt accumulates in the bottom of the salt pan, the flower remains on the surface as a delicate layer of crystals. Assisted by the metabolism of algae and other microorganisms, it contains more than 75 essential minerals. The soft, fluffy crystals are gathered by hand using traditional methods.
Solana Nin is situated on the ancient Roman salt pans adjacent to the Croatian royal town of Nin. The salts contain no additives, created only by the Adriatic Sea, natural sunlight, and bura winds from the Velebit Mountains. Solana Nin is the only saltworks on the Adriatic to have achieved the “BIO” organic certification through the European Union and Croatian Ministry. Solana Nin is our own family favorite.
