Dalmatian Single Herbs from the Island of Hvar

Regular price $8.50 $0.00 Unit price per

These single herbs come from the beautiful, sunny island of Hvar and are typical in Croatian cooking.

Ružmarin is the Croatian name for rosemary. Reminiscent of the Dalmatian kitchen, it is perfect for roast lamb, fish, stews, and vegetables, or added to homemade breads for a lovely flavor. The aroma will remind you of the Mediterranean, with notes of mint and pepper. Rosemary has been used for centuries for its culinary and medicinal properties. Harvested by hand using traditional methods, it retains its aroma and flavor, so only a small amount is needed. It comes packaged in a sealed glass jar containing 20 grams of dried, chopped rosemary leaves.

Kadulja is the Croatian name for sage, a plant that is indigenous to Dalmatia and essential to Mediterranean cuisine. Sage is traditionally used medicinally to help digestion, and as a Croatian folk remedy for the health of teeth and gums. The intense earthy flavor of sage pairs well with hearty winter foods including lamb, poultry, roasts, and eggs. Because it retains its flavor, sage can be added early in cooking, or fried up briefly to spice a finished dish. It comes packaged in a sealed glass jar containing 10 grams of chopped, dried sage leaves.

The Ćurin family farms with traditional methods that have been used for generations. There are no additives or preservatives in their products—only fresh, natural Dalmatian herbs.
