Wooden Prima and Samica Set
We found these little treasures in Slavonski Brod: carefully handcrafted wooden primas and samicas in miniature. As we have written about in our culture pages, music is an important part of Croatian culture, and if you've ever experienced a Croatian family gathering or cultural event, there's a chance you've heard at least one of these instruments being played. The harmonies from our own family parties still resonate with us, many years after the older generations have gone.
Each of these tiny wooden instrument replicas is hand-painted and stringed by an artisan in Nova Kapela. The primas say “Slavonija.”
Sold as a set of two: one of each instrument. Instrument lengths vary and are approximately 10 cm long. Colors vary.
Handmade in Nova Kapela.
